Director's Letter
Hi. My name is Jeff South and I'm the Program Director for Camp Utibaca.
I grew up in a Pastor's home and have lived in Utah my whole life. As a result, I was saved at an early age and have been involved with Camp ministry in some way every year. After working as a part of our Camp Staff for nearly ten years, I became the Assistant Director under Jarrod Murdock. After serving in that capacity for four years, the Lord led the Camp Board to call me to be the Director. I graduated from Northland Baptist Bible College and was married to my beautiful wife Beka in 2010. We believe the Lord has led us to serve Him here in Utah.
My greatest goal for Camp Utibaca is to see God glorified by helping local churches in Utah through the Camp ministry in evangelism and discipleship. We especially want to help young people develop their talents and abilities for the Lord through our Staff Training Program and to become spiritual leaders in their churches. We do not seek to promote ourselves or our program, but Jesus Christ our Savior through our lives and lips.
I want to thank all who support the Camp by sending Campers, helping with finances, giving of your time, and especially for your prayers. Victories for the Lord are won only through effective fervent prayers at Camp and at home. We cannot do this work in a way that will count for eternity without depending on Him!
Please continue to pray with us to see these goals met. Pray that God would also continue to give me the wisdom and strength to be the kind of Camp Director the Lord wants me to be. I just praise God for what He has done through Camp Utibaca in the past and am eager to see what He will do in the future!
